League Two leaders Plymouth win again against Morecambe

Leaders Plymouth beat Morecambe 2-0 to claim their fourth home League Two win in a row ahead of next Saturday's FA Cup clash against Carlisle at Home Park.

Plymouth took 70 seconds to open their account thanks to playmaker Graham Carey's superb left-footed 20-yard rising drive from the edge of the box.

Carey - now on six goals for the term - had been teed up by Craig Tanner, who doubled Argyle's advantage 10 minutes later.

The on-loan Reading attacking midfielder picked his spot from the angle of the area, sending an inch-perfect left-footed strike in off the post to beat diving Shrimps keeper Barry Roche.

In between the goals home keeper Luke McCormick saved well from Jamie Devitt's long-range shot and Shrimps striker Tom Barkhuizen tried his luck with an audacious 25-yard volley, which flew wide.

It took a superb diving save by Roche to deny Carey as the Irish midfielder shot on the run just minutes after clipping the ball past the post as Argyle pressed for a third goal.
