Patterson pounces for Plymouth

Plymouth super-sub Rory Patterson sealed a 2-0 win over relegation rivals Walsall. Patterson outpaced Matt Richards from the halfway line to tuck away Argyle's 88th-minute winner for the basement side. The hosts deservedly took the lead in the 51st minute through livewire winger Yannick Bolasie. Karl Duguid's cross from the right was headed back across goal by diving Rory Fallon and there was Bolasie to sweep the ball home at the far post. Kiwi international Fallon had earlier hit the bar while Saddlers keeper Jimmy Walker made superb diving saves to deny Argyle skipper Carl Fletcher and Joe Mason. Walsall's best first-half opportunity fell to Julian Gray but he was thwarted by a combination of Duguid and home keeper David Button, on loan from Tottenham. Button then briliantly palmed over Matt Richards 30-yard free-kick in the second half.
