Gulls and Argyle serve up goals

The Pilgrims were without injured goalkeeper Romain Larrieu and also skipper Karl Duguid, whose wife has recently given birth to twins.[LNB]The League Two hosts went in front on 32 minutes through a Tim Sills header, only for Rory Fallon to equalise shortly before the break.[LNB]Soon after the interval, Marcel Seip put through his own net to give the Gulls the advantage once more, but a superb strike from Gary Sawyer on the half-volley levelled the scores again nine minutes from time.[LNB]On 89 minutes, midfielder Luke Summerfield netted a penalty to put Argyle ahead but they were pegged back in the closing stages when Elliott Benyon converted a spot-kick at the other end.[LNB]After the match, Pilgrims boss Paul Sturrock told the Western Morning News: "It was a good work-out. There are a lot of my players who are much fitter than they were last season. I don't like losing three goals, but I'm quite happy."[LNB]Meanwhile, Argyle now appear unlikely to pursue any interest in Iceland international midfielder Kari Arnason. The 26-year-old impressed in Monday' 2-0 friendly win at Truro City but Sturrock has since confirmed that he is no longer training with the Pilgrims.[LNB]Torquay manager Paul Buckle was more than happy with his side.[LNB]He said: "First and foremost we have picked up no new injuries which is paramount at this stage of the season, and it was certainly a good exercise.[LNB]"Plymouth pushed us, they have got Championship players of real quality and we had to work hard for the draw but I was very pleased with our performance."[LNB][LNB]
