Greens giant eyeing promotion push
A consortium of local and international businessmen completed a buy-out earlier this week and declared an ambition to bring Premier League football to Home Park within five years.
Goalkeeper and new captain Larrieu maintains that the players have been able to stay focused despite all the off-field issues.
And he is confident Argyle will improve significantly on their results from last season, when they finished just five points clear of the relegation zone in 21st position.
"We, the players, are ready for the challenge that lies ahead and the takeover doesn't really affect us when it comes to playing football," Larrieu told skysports.
"We would like to improve on our disappointing season last term. We are in the middle of a rebuilding process really, but I am one of those people who thinks finishing in 7th or 8th is similar to finishing in 21st because it doesn't matter as long as you survive the drop.
"We did that last season and now it is up to us to keep working hard, which is a major attribute that Plymouth Argyle requires from its players, then we will look to move up the table next season."
The 32-year-old accepts that it will be tough in the Championship this season as more big clubs drop down from the top tier.
He explained: "Even before the likes of Newcastle and Middlesbrough dropped down it was looking like a tough division, so with them two thrown into the mix it is going to be even more competitive.
"The division has been proven to be a tough league to get out of, as sides who are expected to bounce back at the first attempt fail to do so. Everyone has a go in this league and that is why it is so exciting."
