Fletcher set for Argyle loan switch

The Wales international was immediately installed as club captain when he first signed for the Eagles from West Ham but is now surplus to requirements at Selhurst Park.

The 28-year-old was loaned out to Nottingham Forest earlier in the season and is now on the verge of linking up with Paul Sturrock at Home Park, having previously rejected a switch to the Pilgrims last summer.

Argyle are also understood to have enquired about the availability of Palace striker James Scowcroft, but he appears to have rejected a move to Devon.

However, a third Eagles player - Shefki Kuqi - could decide to try his luck with Sturrock's men, with Neil Warnock keen to off-load the Finnish striker.
