McLeod adds to Pilgrims' woes

In-form Izale McLeod headed home his seventh league goal of the season as Barnet won 2-0 to heap yet more misery on bottom-of-the-table Plymouth.

Bees defender Daniel Leach made sure of the points in the second half with a deflected strike as the home side ran out deserved winners.

They were in front inside eight minutes when McLeod rose highest to nod into an empty net after Plymouth keeper Romain Larrieu had failed to deal with Mark Byrne's long throw.

Mark Marshall and Leach then wasted decent opportunities to give Barnet a two-goal cushion before the interval as the Pilgrims struggled for creativity in the final third.

However, Leach made up for his earlier miss in the 65th minute when his low shot wrong-footed Larrieu and bobbled over the line.

Plymouth pressed late on in search of some consolation but Barnet were not to be denied their first home win of the season and could have made it three in the closing stages when Charlie Taylor's dipping volley flew narrowly wide.
