Barnes receives Sturrock backing
Sturrock - a former Scotland international and Dundee United ace in his playing days - has started 19-year-old Barnes in attack in Argyle's last seven games.
Sturrock said: "Ashley has run the line very well. He has linked us up and gives us presence up there.
"I always thought I would have to work on his linkage but it has been his strength.
"The icing on the cake for him would be rattling in a couple of goals."
