Letheren, 21, has been added to the Argyle squad on a short-term deal as cover for club captain and current number one Romain Larrieu. Paul Sturrock was forced to bring in extra cover after Saxton was diagnosed with a wrist problem that requires an operation. Sturrock said: "We have brought in Kyle on a short-term deal to help us through the first couple of games," said Luggy. "He has come here to prove himself and it gives him an opportunity to impress us." Letheren began his career as a youngster with Swansea before moving on to Barnsley, via a loan spell at Newport County. He has been a free agent since being released by the Tykes at the end of last season.
