Argyle bring Bradley to Home Park

Wright-Phillips, 24 - half-brother of England winger Shaun - joins on a free transfer after his contract at St Mary's expired at the end of June, although he had been training with Saints recently. He has penned a two-year contract at Home Park. He follows Carl Fletcher to Devon and manager Paul Sturrock was delighted to snap him up. "I've been an admirer of his for a very long time," he said. "If you go on Youtube and look at some of the goals he has scored, he has a knack of being in the right place at the right time - we need that type of player. "He's very quick as well." After Wright-Phillips was unveiled at a packed press conference, Sturrock said: "I think Bradley can get us goals. "I want him to concentrate on filling one position, with one task. I want him to concentrate on being a striker and getting goals. "Not getting goals was what let us down - certainly at home - last season." Wright-Phillips, who will sport the number 10 shirt after his free move from Saints, is relishing the task ahead. "There were other clubs interested in (signing) me but once I met Paul (Sturrock) I wanted to come here," he said. "He said everything I needed to hear and seemed to really want me here. "That was a big factor as far as I was concerned and he wants to play me where I want to play. I have been a striker since I was six." Wright-Phillips hit 25 goals in 121 appearances for Southampton after a £500,000 move from Manchester City in summer 2006. Coca Cola Ch'ship Promotion 09/10 Win Outright: Plymouth 20/1
