Backline problems for leaders

League Two leaders Peterhead will be short of defenders against visitors East Stirling.

Ross Smith and Scott Ross are missing through suspension with utility man Ryan McCann unable to cover as he is getting married.

Callum MacDonald (knee) and David Cox (foot) remain out, however Bryan Gilfillan has been passed fit, Dean Cowie has shaken off a foot knock and Rory McAllister returns after a ban.

Manager Jim McInally said: "We will be short on numbers but high on desire as East Stirling beat us 2-0 in our last meeting. Annan are chasing us hard and the best way to keep them at bay is to keep winning."

East Stirling, who have picked up seven points from their last three games, have Iain Thomson suspended for their contest at Balmoor.

Ankle injuries keep Michael Bolochoweckyj and Kevin Turner out with head coach John Coughlin looking to keep his side in the play-off hunt.

Coughlin said: "We have two really hard fixtures coming up with Peterhead and then Stirling. Getting something from both games would set us up nicely for the rest of the season.

"We drew on our last visit to Peterhead and beat them at our place so whilst they are a very good side, we know we can get a result against them."
