Peterhead patched up for Ayr clash

Patched up Peterhead will host Ayr United minus the three players who were sent off against Dunfermline last weekend after Jordan Brown's appeal to the SFA to have his ban overturn was not successful.

Brown joins Jamie Redman and Steven Noble, who were also dismissed, on the sidelines with Jamie Stevenson and Mark Millar pressed into action despite carrying knocks.

New loan signing from Dundee, Nicky Riley, could also play but full-back Graeme Sharp will be involved with the Blue Toon for the last time as he is heading to Greece to work after nine years.

Manager Jim McInally said: "We will just get on with things and look to defeat Ayr."

The Honest Men had hoped to bring Mark McLaughlin in on loan from Dumbarton as cover for the injured Peter Murphy (achilles) and Martyn Campbell (knee) however the move fell through.

Josh McArthur is a doubt however Alan Forrest could return return after a shoulder injury.

Manager Mark Roberts said: "We lost to Airdrie last weekend as our central defenders were off injured. If they had stayed on we would have won and I now need to come up with a combination that will help us be successful at Peterhead.

"It will be a tough as they will be looking to hit back after a disappointing afternoon at Dunfermline."
