Ross blow for Peterhead

Peterhead are without David Ross as they welcome Annan to Balmoor.

The striker picked up a knock in training and is ruled out along with long-term absentee Callum MacDonald.

Blue Toon manager Jim McInally is looking to former Annan player David Cox to help his side move six points clear of the Galabank men in the race for a play-off place.

McInally said: "David Cox has been great for us since he joined recently and I am sure he will be again against one of his former sides.

"He has helped us look more like the side I want us to be and hopefully that will carry on in this game.

"A win for us would see the league beginning to split in two."

Annan welcome back defender Steven Swinglehurst from suspension.

The defender served a one-game ban last weekend after being dismissed during the defeat against Clyde.

Striker Graeme Bell continues to be ruled out with a groin problem and midfielder Lewis Sloan is a doubt as the Galabank side look to end a run of three straight defeats.

Manager Harry Cairney said: "We finished strongly against Queen's Park, scoring twice in the last minute, and I am looking for us to build on that.

"A win would lift us above Peterhead in the table and that would make a long journey on a cold day very worthwhile.

"They have been strong at home all season so we know that we have to play well to take anything."
