Peterhead hit Cowdenbeath for seven

Leighton McIntosh scored a hat-trick as rampant Peterhead thrashed Cowdenbeath 7-0 to claim only their second league victory in 12 matches.

McIntosh and Jordon Brown both notched braces to put the hosts 4-0 up at half-time and further goals from McIntosh, Rory McAllister and Scott Ferries after the break wrapped up Peterhead's biggest win since 2008.

McIntosh opened the floodgates in the 16th minute with a header before he turned provider almost immediately to set up Brown to make it 2-0.

The same combination added a third in the 32nd minute, Brown firing home from a pass from McIntosh, who 10 minutes later netted his second of the half after racing onto a long ball from Steven Noble.

That was the game over as a contest, but it was not the end of the misery for Cowdenbeath as McIntosh completed his hat-trick in the 55th minute before top scorer McAllister made it six four minutes later and substitute Ferries wrapped things up late on.
