Blue Toon hit back to earn point
Peterhead battled back from 2-0 down to a earn a point against 10-man Stenhousemuir on the opening day of the Ladbrokes Scottish League One season at Balmoor.
Stenhousemuir looked to be cruising to victory when Euan Murray put them ahead with a fourth-minute header from Alan Cook's cross and Allan Smith made it 2-0 six minutes later, the striker firing home right-footed from Kieran Millar's pass.
However, Peterhead were given a lifeline five minutes after half-time when experienced Warriors defender Stuart Malcolm was sent off for a second booking, having picked up his first towards the end of the opening period.
The hosts ensured they did not waste the opportunity, with Rory McAllister halving the deficit from the penalty spot in the 61st minute after he himself had been fouled by Jamie McCormack.
Peterhead then went on to snatch an equaliser 13 minutes later when Jordon Brown fired home from since the box as the spoils were shared.
