Andrew Rodgers nets winner for Peterhead

Peterhead kept up the pressure on Ladbrokes League One leaders Dunfermline with a narrow 1-0 home win over Airdrie.

With Dunfermline winning by the same scoreline against Cowdenbeath, three points were vital for Peterhead who moved seven points clear of third-placed Ayr due to the latter losing 3-1 at Forfar.

In a game of few chances it was left to Peterhead substitute Andrew Rodgers to score the only goal.

Rodgers replaced Marc Lawrence with 20 minutes of the game remaining and the substitution did the trick.

Just five minutes after coming on Rodgers finished after fellow substitute Jordon Brown set him up.

With nine minutes to go Rory McAllister could have stretched Peterhead's lead with a fine shot but it went the wrong side of the bar.
