Blue Toon stung by Wasps
Alloa booked their place in the second round of the Scottish Communities League Cup with a 2-0 win over Peterhead.
The first half was a scrappy affair with few clear-cut chances for either side, but the game came to life in the second period.
The visitors were awarded a penalty soon after the interval when Ryan McCord was tripped in the box.
McCord then sent Peterhead goalkeeper Graeme Smith the wrong way from the spot to make it 1-0.
Peterhead pushed for an equaliser but were unable to find a way past Scott Bain in the Alloa net.
The Wasps made it 2-0 in the 83rd minute when Andy Kirk got on the end of McCord's free-kick to head in from close range.
