Deadly duo down Peterhead

Fraser McLaren and Damon Gray combined twice as Berwick ended a run of two straight defeats by beating Peterhead 2-1.

Berwick took the lead after 12 minutes when McLaren received the ball off Gray on the left edge of the box and placed his shot into the bottom corner from 12 yards.

Peterhead were level two minutes later as Rory McAllister smashed his penalty home after Gary Wood had been fouled by Christopher McLeod.

Gray almost put Berwick back in front after 31 minutes but his 20-yard strike hit the crossbar. A few minutes later, the Borderers came close again with Darren Gribben hitting the woodwork from 12 yards.

Berwick did regain the lead just before the break when McLaren scored his fifth goal of the season. Gray found the midfielder in the box and he rifled into the bottom corner.
