Peterborough United centre-half Gaby Zakuani is determined to shake off a groin injury so that he can feature for his struggling side at Sheffield Wednesday this weekend.
The 23-year-old has been troubled by the problem for some time, but is hopeful of returning to action to help out Posh, who are without suspended duo Craig Morgan and Ryan Bennett.
Zakuani told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "I'll play through the pain for the team and I've had a pain-killing injection to speed up the process.
"I'm going to all lengths to make sure I'm fit enough to play on Saturday.
"As soon as I do any work where I get a sweat on, the next day I get a lot of swelling on my groin. But I know the team needs me and I will put myself on the line.
Meanwhile, Posh have allowed midfielder Toumani Diagouraga to join League One side Brentford on loan until the end of the season.
