Striker return boosts Posh

Peterborough United striker Craig Mackail-Smith is in line to make his first appearance of the season following his return from injury.

The 23-year-old forward has made two appearances for the Posh's reserve side following a 'body alignment injury' discovered in pre-season, but could return to the first-team fold for Saturday's visit of Morecambe.

"I'm just trying to get as many games under my belt as possible, the more games I play in the fitter I'll get and I'll then hopefully be able to start featuring for the first team regularly," he told the club's official website.

"I don't mind being thrown in at the deep end, I'm just happy to be playing again.

"It was great to play the full 90 minutes on Monday. It was only my second match of the new season and to have two shots on target and score one of them is good for me."
