Striker enjoys Posh success
03 Dec 2007 - 13:33:11
Peterborough United's FA Cup star Craig Mackail-Smith was delighted with his four-goal salvo in the 5-0 second round victory at Staines Town.
The 23-year-old former Dagenham & Redbridge frontman also netted a hat-trick in the first round against Wrexham and is delighted to have struck up a prolific partnership with Aaron McLean at London Road.
He told the Evening Telegraph: "It's a great feeling to score four as I've never done that before, but the main aim was to reach the third round.
"I'm catching Aaron up in total goals and he knows it, but we're enjoying playing together and the partnership is just going from strength to strength.
"I was lucky enough to be on hand to finish the goals in this game and it's good that we're creating goals for each other.
"I should have scored five because I missed an open goal in the second half."
