Strachan to stay with Posh

Peterborough United have agreed a contract extension with midfielder Gavin Strachan.

The 28-year-old moved to London Road in January following his release by Hartlepool United after agreeing a short-term deal until the end of the season.

But, after impressing Posh boss Darren Ferguson in his six appearances since January, Strachan has signed a new contract that will keep him at the club until summer 2008.

"The way things are going at the club at the moment, I would be foolish not to want to stay," he told the club's official website.

"It is an exciting time and I am pleased to be involved."

Posh boss Ferguson added: "I have been impressed with Gavin in training and in matches and I am delighted to have him on board for another year."
