Simpson close to Southend switch

Peterborough United midfielder Josh Simpson is close to securing a six-month loan move to Southend after a successful trial.Simpson, 23, has been told he is not part of Peterborough manager Gary Johnson's plans. The move cannot be ratified until the Shrimpers have their transfer embargo lifted by the Football League.
