Posh waiting on Elliott

Peterborough United boss Darren Ferguson is still waiting to find out whether he has been successful with a move to sign Bristol Rovers defender Steve Elliott.

Ferguson is hoping to tempt Elliott to make the move to London Road, despite Rovers having gained promotion to League One via the play-offs.

"The situation is that we still have to get a decision from Steve about whether he wants to come here," Ferguson told the Evening Telegraph.

"We have spoken to him and there is a deal in place.

"All we can do is wait and see for a few days, but if I don't get him I will not just be going out to sign any defender.

"I have certainly not identified any other targets."
