Posh tie up Zakuani signing

Peterborough United have agreed an undisclosed fee with Fulham to sign central defender Gabriel Zakuani on a permanent basis in the January transfer window.

The 22-year-old has impressed for the Posh since joining on loan from the Cottagers earlier this season and will put pen to paper three-and-a-half year contract in the New Year.

Posh manager Darren Ferguson told the club's official website: "Gabby has been excellent since he came here on loan and has been a big part of our unbeaten run.

"He is an out-and-out defender and has formed a good partnership with Craig Morgan."

Zakuani started his career with Leyton Orient, before securing a big-money move to Fulham in the summer of 2006.

However, he made just two appearances for the Cottagers and was loaned out to Stoke City on two separate occasions.
