Posh striker finally arrives

Peterborough United's new signing Craig Mackail-Smith has finally arrived at London Road after failing to turn up for his first week of training at his new club.

The 22-year-old striker agreed to move to Posh alongside Dagenham & Redbridge team-mate Shane Blackett during the transfer window.

But, after Mackail-Smith failed to report to training, he was threatened with legal action by Peterborough's director of football Barry Fry.

"Due to personal problems my arrival was delayed by a week," Mackail-Smith told the club's official website. "But they are all behind me and I'm raring to go.

"I'm fully focused on my football and can't wait to pull on the Posh shirt with pride and continue scoring goals.

"This is my first league club and I'm looking forward to taking the opportunity I've been given."
