Posh relieved over Zakuani

Peterborough United defender Gaby Zakuani is facing only around a couple of weeks out of action after a neck injury proved not to be as serious as was first feared.

The central defender was injured in the opening stages of the 1-0 win at home to Carlisle United and was taken to hospital for treatment.

However, he was later released when x-rays showed only bruising and not a more serious problem.

Posh boss Darren Ferguson told the Evening Telegraph: "We were all worried for Gaby because a neck injury is not just a concern in a sporting sense.

"But there is no break or fracture, so the doctor is saying he will be out for a week or two at the most."
