    Posh hit with FA charge

    13 Feb 2008 - 12:49:36

Peterborough United have been hit with a charge of failing to control their players by the Football Association.

Posh were charged with Rule E20a - failing to control their players in an orderly fashion and/or refraining from violent and/or provocative behaviour - following Saturday's league clash with Wrexham.

The goalless draw was marred by an unsightly 20-man second-half skirmish after Peterborough goalkeeper Joe Lewis was felled by burly visiting defender Steve Evans.

When referee Graham Horwood finally restored order, he booked Evans for the foul and home defender Chris Westwood and Wrexham striker Drewe Broughton for their parts in what followed.

The club have until February 27 to respond to the charge.
