Peterborough United are closing in on Hereford United player Toumani Diagouraga.
Diagouraga has been trailed by Darren Ferguson and Barry Fry for several months, after a bid for the player was turned down last year.
However, Hereford, who were relegated to League Two last season, have accepted a bid from the Championship new boys for the Frenchman.
Fry told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "If the boy doesn't want to come to the Championship and makes it about money then we don't want to sign him.
"But after the conversations I've had with the agent I can't see a problem."
Peterborough hope to tie up a deal soon, though its completion was put back due to a series of delayed flights from Paris.
