Posh continue to strengthen
01 Jan 2008 - 13:02:42
Peterborough United have snapped up the Livingston right-back Scott Mitchell on a month's contract and hope to sign defender Tom Williams on an emergency loan basis.
Posh boss Darren Ferguson eventually hopes to make Williams' move to London Road permanent.
"We tried to get Tom earlier in the season, but we had a few issues with Wycombe so I'm pleased to have him on board now," Ferguson told the club's official website.
"He's a good size, is left-footed and gives us good cover at left-back which we need.
"Tom is great on set-pieces and I believe we have a bargain on our hands."
On Mitchell's arrival, Ferguson added: "He'll feature in all three reserve games during January and we'll see how he does. He certainly looks the part."
Meanwhile, Jeff Hughes has ended his loan spell with United and returned to Crystal Palace.
