Posh boss laments decisions
21 Jan 2009 - 13:54:56
Peterborough United boss Darren Ferguson blamed bad luck and refereeing mistakes for his side's inability to find the net in Tuesday's goalless draw with MK Dons.
Ferguson was furious after referee Graham Salisbury ruled out an appeal for a penalty following claims that Dons defender Dean Lewington had handled the ball in the box.
"It was a certain penalty," claimed Ferguson. "The ball clearly struck their lad on the arm, the referee was only six yards away yet failed to give us the decision.
"If he gives the penalty, he has to send their man off and that makes things very different.
"We undoubtedly deserved to win. We were absolutely fantastic to a man, but didn't get that little bit of luck."
