Peterborough United are to send winger Alfie Potter out on loan to Blue Square Premier side Oxford United.

Potter, who enjoyed a temporary switch to Kettering Town last season, has agreed a season-long deal with Oxford with a view to a permanent deal.

The 20-year-old's contract with Oxford will extend to the end-of-season play-offs should the U's get there.

Potter caught the attention of manager Darren Ferguson and director of football Barry Fry when playing for non-league side Havant & Waterlooville.

Potter scored at Anfield when Havant's memorable FA Cup run of 2007/08 ended with defeat at Premier League giants Liverpool.
