Ferguson to shuffle pack
Peterborough will rest several players for the final game of the season against Port Vale.
Posh boss Darren Ferguson, Sky Bet League One manager of the month for April, insists it is not too late for some players to force their way into his plans ahead of the forthcoming play-off campaign, and recently-signed centre-back Ricardo Santos and teenage midfielders Tom Conlon and Jermaine Anderson are likely to be included in the squad.
Leading scorer Britt Assombalonga is expected to be be given the afternoon off, while the likes of goalkeeper Bobby Olejnik, full-back Mark Little and skipper Tommy Rowe could also be rested.
However, Ferguson will probably start with his first-choice central defensive pairing of Jack Baldwin and Michael Bostwick.
Vale have no new injury problems but there will be changes to the squad that travels to London Road.
Doug Loft (broken cheekbone), Joe Davis (hamstring) and Tom Pope (ankle) all missed the home defeat to Sheffield United last weekend and will probably not feature on Saturday.
Anthony Griffith started against the Blades but the midfielder discovered this week that he will be one of three players to be released, along with Liam Chilvers and Rob Taylor, so it remains to be seen whether he will be involved.
Chris Shuker came on as a substitute last time out but he has since retired.
