Peterborough United right-back Adam Newton has ended his six-year association with the club and agreed a 12-month deal with Brentford. The 27-year-old former West Ham United trainee made almost 250 first-team appearances for The Posh, but is now looking forward to starting a new chapter in his career. He told United's official website: "It's a sad time but it's a chance for a fresh challenge and one I'm looking forward to. "My six years at London Road have been colourful, there have been plenty of ups and downs and it's great to be able to leave Peterborough on a high after promotion last term."
