Published : 17 Aug 2010 14:30:53
Peterborough striker Aaron Mclean has admitted he feared a broken ankle when he went down injured last week.Mclean was carried off on a stretcher during the midweek Carling Cup win over Bristol Rovers but after scans gave him the all clear he was able to start the 5-1 thrashing at Bournemouth on Saturday.Mclean said: "When it happened I thought I'd broken my ankle, but although the scan did show some bone floating around it was nothing painful or serious."The doctors reckoned it must have been an old injury, but I can't remember hurting my right side before so I don't know where that's come from."I would have been devastated if the injury had been serious because I felt like I'd made a great start to the season so I was pleased to be able to play at Bournemouth."We couldn't have a better game coming up than one against Huddersfield though. They are one of the promotion favourites so if we beat them it will help us forget about last Saturday."
