McLean blow stuns Posh

Peterborough United striker Aaron McLean won't play again this season after damaging cruciate knee ligaments.

Posh's ten-goal marksman suffered the injury against Macclesfield Town two weeks ago and further scans have revealed the full extent of the problem.

Meanwhile, United boss Darren Ferguson has received positive injury news on defender Guy Branston.

The centre-half has been out of action for four weeks with a calf injury, but scans on a fresh back problem have revealed no serious damage.

On-loan midfielder Adam Smith has also returned to light training following a spell on the sidelines with a stomach problem.
