Gannon happy with turnaround
17 Feb 2010 - 15:04:11
Peterborough United boss Jim Gannon was happy to see his side grab an impressive 3-1 Championship win against Ipswich Town after seeing his men trail at the interval.
A flat Posh first-half performance led to Gannon hauling off Craig Mackail-Smith for Reuben Reid, and his decision didn't go down well with the home fans.
However, goals from debutant Liam Dickinson, Lee Frecklington and Craig Morgan helped Posh secure a valuable win that leaves them nine points away from safety at the bottom of the table.
Speaking after the game, Gannon said: "I'll take responsibility for the performance in the first half. I tried to accommodate one or two players in a system that they don't really fit and that isn't something I'll do again.
"I got criticised for making the change when taking Craig off but I feel the performance from then on justified my decision.
"I was a bit disappointed with some of the negative comments from the fans aimed towards both myself and the players in the first half because I always felt we could go on to get something from the game."
