Ferguson happy to stay at Posh
The Scot guided Posh to promotion from League One last season and was strongly linked with the manager's job at Reading which eventually went to Brendan Rodgers. Ferguson is now reportedly being coveted by West Brom should Tony Mowbray leave for Celtic but the 37-year-old is relishing the chance of guiding Peterborough through the forthcoming Championship season. "I have always maintained that I'm happy here and nothing has happened since the end of last season to make me change my mind. It's since been an unbelievably great two seasons for everyone at the club, but with that success inevitably comes speculation," Ferguson told the Peterborough Evening Telegraph. "I was told over the phone by Barry Fry that Reading were interested in speaking to me and all I said was that I would have to think about it, but that's all I heard before I went away on holiday. The club rejected Reading's approach anyway and that's fine by me. I have no problems with the chairman and we spent time in Spain last week planning for this season. "I still have a lot to learn and I intend to learn it here. I have no idea how good this team could be, but I can't wait to find out. That's all that matters to me right now."
