Peterborough United boss Darren Ferguson has confirmed that his 18-year playing career has come to an end.
The 36-year-old made almost 450 League appearances for his three clubs since making his debut for Manchester United during the 1990-91 campaign.
Ferguson went on to play 27 League matches for United before joining Wolves in 1994. He featured in more than a century of games for the Midlands side before moving to Wrexham in September 1999.
In eight years at the Racecourse Ground, Ferguson made almost 300 League appearances for the Red Dragons.
"I won't be playing anymore that's for sure but I'm certainly taking part in all of the pre-season training with the squad," Ferguson told Posh's official website.
"I still enjoy that side of things but I'm in the early years of my management career and I'm looking forward to the new campaign."
