Fergie faces massive March

29 Feb 2008 - 16:39:15

Peterborough United manager Darren Ferguson has admitted his squad cannot afford any mistakes during a massive month of football this March.

The Posh are currently in splendid form after winning seven of their last eight league matches including an 8-2 mauling of Accrington Stanley.

This has seen the Posh move up to second in League Two, which puts them only a point behind leaders Milton Keynes Dons.

Ferguson's men have an extremely demanding March, which includes eight league matches and a mouth-watering prospect when they face an away-day meeting with the league leaders.

The former Manchester United player told the Evening Telegraph: "I know it is an old cliche, but we have achieved this good run of results by taking things one game at a time.

"There is no reason for that to change. We have 13 games left in which to secure promotion and we need to get a lot more results like the ones we have picked up lately.

"We had a blip when losing at home to Macclesfield, but that was the kick up the backside we needed at the time.

"Teams have realised that coming to our place and going for it merely plays into our hands, so they attempt to frustrate us."
