Day returns to Posh training

Defender Jamie Day is back in training with the Peterborough United first team just five months after undergoing serious back surgery.

The 22-year-old left-back had problems with the nerves in his left leg - an issue that required specialist treatment and a recommended nine month lay-off - and Day is ahead of his comeback schedule.

"The body's been fine. Mentally it's just brilliant to be back in the swing of things. Just knowing that this is the start of my rehab and where I need to be is brilliant," he said.

"Missing most of the season already I kind of knew before the surgery that I'd be not playing again this season.

"It was just something I got my head around a long time ago."
