Day pens Posh deal

Midfielder Jamie Day has committed his future to Peterborough United by putting pen to paper on a new contract that will keep him at London Road until the summer of 2010.

Posh boss Keith Alexander has not been impressed by all the squad members he inherited in the summer, but the 20-year-old is one of the players he is desperate to hang on to.

"There are a lot of players out of contract at the end of the season," Alexander told the club's official website.

"Jamie is the first of those that we have negotiated with and I am delighted he has signed a new deal."

Day progressed through the youth ranks at London Road and has made 35 League appearances since his first-team debut in February 2005.
