Peterborough United have terminated the contract of midfielder Paul Carden by mutual consent.

The 27-year-old midfielder has been sidelined since September after suffering a hernia injury and has left London Road with immediate effect.

"It is with much regret that I announce the cancellation by mutual consent of Paul Carden's contract," Posh director of football Barry Fry told the club's official website.

"Because of personal reasons, this cancellation has been agreed by both parties.

"Paul has been a great servant to this football club in the short period of time he has been here.

"He never failed to give 100 per cent effort for the club both on and off the field and I really wish him all the best."
