Carden seeks Posh chance

Peterborough United midfielder Paul Carden is hoping to break back into the starting line-up at London Road sooner rather than later.

The 27-year-old former Chester City schemer missed most the Posh's pre-season build-up after undergoing surgery on a hernia and is busily making up for lost time.

He told the Evening Telegraph: "This manager has a manner about him which I believe will get the best out of the players.

"He's certainly got the team playing well and he's also got them battling which is crucial at this level.

"I have a feeling we are going to enjoy a successful season and I hope I play a big part in it.

"It won't be easy for me to get into the starting line-up as Richard Butcher and Dean Holden have been great in the centre of midfield."
