Baggies praised by Fergie

28 Jan 2008 - 08:14:53

Peterborough United boss Darren Ferguson accepted that his side had been taught a lesson by West Brom, who won 3-0 at London Road in the FA Cup fourth round.

Ferguson had no complaints about the result and praised the Championship leaders highly after the game.

He said: "They're the best team we've played by miles and miles. They are a Premier League team and I love the way they play.

"We have to learn a lesson from this. I said to them in the dressing room after that they have been handed a footballing lesson and it's up to them to take it on board.

"It was all a bit of an anti-climax in the end. I feel sorry for the fans because after 15 minutes the game was dead and buried.

"Obviously we made a few chances, but you cannot give teams like West Brom a 2-0 start."
