Torres can leave Posh - Ferguson
The Argentine failed to make an impact after his move last summer and Ferguson revealed the 27-year-old is unlikely to play for the club again.
Ferguson told the Peterborough Evening Telegraph: "We have a surplus of wingers and we need to get some money into the club, so Sergio is one we decided to let go.
"He didn't make the impact we had hoped, although he was unlucky with injuries. He's a good footballer, but if we have one position where we have plenty of cover it's his.
"I didn't bring him to Marbella (for pre-season training) because as things stand he is not likely to feature in the first team."
