Symns hails historic sale

City councillors have agreed to spend £8.65million to buy the stadium from current owners Peterborough United Holdings Ltd (PUHL).[LNB]The club had faced being made homeless when its lease with PUHL runs out in 2014 and Symns said the deal will go ahead regardless of whether the club stay in the Championship this season.[LNB]The Peterborough chief executive told the club's official website: "It's an absolutely tremendous event in the history of the club.[LNB]"It means the club will be safe at London Road for the foreseeable future and the council have been magnificent in helping us to achieve our aims and the chairman's aims.[LNB]"This is a land development deal and the football club will reap the benefit of that. It's a community complex and our status (in the Championship) will not affect the development at all."[LNB][LNB]
