Posh primed for play-offs

Peterborough manager Darren Ferguson is confident his side will regain their best form in the npower League One play-offs. United, who are assured of a top-five finish going into the final match of the regular campaign at home to Dagenham on Saturday, are currently on their worst run of results of the season having won only two of their last nine games. Ferguson, whose team face either MK Dons or Bournemouth in a two-legged play-off semi-final, admits the performances in recent weeks have been below par but believes his players can raise their game for the big occasion. He told the Peterborough Evening Telegraph: "We have slipped below the level of performance I expect in recent weeks, but it's been an awkward time for the players because we've known we are going to be in the play-offs for some time. I wouldn't say we have had nothing to play for, but the edge has been taken off some of the games. "What I do know, though, is that I have a set of players who can't wait for the play-offs to start and I have every confidence that they will show their best form in those games. I have players who will revel on the big stage. "I expect a good performance against Dagenham on Saturday to get us a little bit of momentum going into the play-offs. I have no preference about who we play because we have performed well this season against the other teams involved."
