The 18-year-old has signed a two-year contract at London Road after moving for an undisclosed fee from the non-league side.
Ferguson told the club's official website: "Danny is one for the future, he is a good size and we are looking forward to working with him.
"He is only 18-years-old and he has plenty of potential."
