Posh can only get better - Zakuani
Zakuani made 29 appearances in the second tier last season while on loan at Stoke and is confident that his fellow teammates can make the grade.
He told the Peterborough Evening Telegraph: "We deserve to be in the Championship and if everyone stays fit and healthy we will be competitive.
"We are a young and hungry side who will continue to improve. We will also start the season with plenty of momentum behind us.
"We won't be among the fancied sides next season, but that will probably help us as well. I really fancy us to do well and I can't wait to get going.
"If we can finish close to Leicester and above Leeds this season, there's no reason why we can't finish well up the Championship table."
