Posh await McLean prognosis

Peterborough manager Gary Johnson was left waiting news on striker Aaron Mclean, who was stretchered off with a serious lower right leg injury during his side's 4-1 Carling Cup triumph over Rotherham. Mclean scored in the 60th minute, while further goals from Ryan Bennett, George Boyd and Craig Makail-Smith ensured a comfortable first round win for Posh. Johnson said: "There was a horrible crack at the time, but the early indications we are getting is that the injury might not be as bad as we all first feared. "A few medical people had a look at the injury and felt it wasn't conclusive that it was broken. That is good news, but the really great news would be to hear that he has only suffered bruising. "Unfortunately it has put a bit of a dampener on our good start to the season and we're all hoping for good news. "We didn't get ourselves going early on and Rotherham took the one opportunity that came their way, but any team that's capable of scoring three or four goals will always get themselves back into a game."
